In the fast-paced world, we live in today, patience may seem like a lost art. We want things and we want them now – instant gratification has become the norm. Last week, I had to go to the Department of Motor Vehicles to renew my car registration after an accident I had in May. I was told I would have to wait for one hour to be seen. After waiting for almost two hours, I got impatient. I had to talk myself to relax and remember the importance of patience when things take longer than expected. I usually keep myself busy and don´t like to waste any time so I would be listening to a podcast or reading a book but this time I did not have the motivation to do anything else. Just to sit and wait to be called.

Even though I did not feel like doing it, I made myself do some breathing exercises that helped me to decrease my anxiety.
