Mentor Coaching

Mentor Coaching

According to the ICF, Mentor Coaching is ” Providing professional services to develop the required coaching skills needed to obtain an ICF Credential. It consists of coaching and feedback in a collaborative, appreciative and dialogued process based on observed or recorded coaching to increase the coach’s capability in coaching, in alignment with the ICF Core Competencies. Mentor Coaching for an ICF Credential focuses on developing coaching skills and not on the exploration of challenges of the coaching professional practice, such as building a business or achieving work/life balance”. (www.coachfederation.org)

Mentor Coaching consists of observing or listening to coaching sessions and providing feedback on competencies that are present or missing, following ICF Core Competency Model and according to the level and credential expected (ACC, PCC and MCC).  Mentor coaching should take at least 10 hours in a three month period. There are different requirements for each credential. Visit ICF website to see details: www.coachfederation.org.
